American sports administrator David Grevemberg will serve as the next chief executive of the Commonwealth Games Federation.
The 41-year-old Grevemberg will succeed Mike Hooper, the New Zealander who is stepping down after this summer's Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, Scotland.
Grevemberg is the current chief executive of the Glasgow organising committee.
"It will be an honour and privilege to lead the Commonwealth sports movement on the next stage of its journey," he said in a statement released by the federation.
Grevemberg, a former wrestler and coach, was born in New Orleans.
He previously worked as an executive director at the International Paralympic Committee.
