Amnesty International claims ethnic cleansing is being carried out against Muslim civilians in the Central African Republic, with international peacekeepers unable to prevent it.

Amnesty says it has documented at least 200 killings of Muslim civilians by Christian militia groups known as the anti-balaka.

The vigilante group was set up in the wake of the coup in March last year by the mainly Muslim Seleka rebellion.

Joanne Mariner is Amnesty senior crisis response adviser based in the capital Bangui.

She's told Santilla Chingaipe, the attacks against Muslims are being committed with the intent to forcibly displace them from the country.

And a warning, this report contains some disturbing material.
