Amnesty International says the incoming Sri Lankan government must make human rights a priority.

Sri Lanka's new president, Maithripala Sirisena, has been sworn in after final results from historic polls made him the clear victor over Mahinda Rajapaksa.

Amnesty International Australia's Sri Lanka campaigner Ming Yu has told Sonja Heydeman there's an enormous amount of work to do to make the country a safe place for all.
