An almighty cheer for returning Goodes: PM

Prime Minister Tony Abbott believes the Swans' Adam Goodes will receive a big cheer when he touches the ball during Saturday night's game against Geelong.

Tony Abbott believes there will be an almighty cheer raising the roof when Sydney Swans player Adam Goodes returns to the AFL against Geelong.

The dual Brownlow medallist and 2014 Australian of the Year took a week away from the game after being booed by opposing fans.

"I think the first time Adam gets the ball there will be one almighty cheer," the prime minister told Triple M Melbourne ahead of Saturday night's game.
