Megan Anderson says she's already a winner before her UFC debut, after enduring experiences she believes would make other people quit.
Anderson takes on former bantamweight champion Holly Holm in the fledgling women's featherweight division on the undercard of the Robert Whittaker- Yoel Romero middleweight world title fight in Chicago on Sunday (AEST).
Anderson, who won the featherweight title in the Invicta organsiation, was originally scheduled to make her UFC debut last year against the formidable Brazilian Cris Cyborg.
The Kansas City based Queenslander withdrew from the fight citing personal reasons which she has repeatedly declined to go into detail about.
It has been reported that she was was vilified by internet trolls.
"People who do know about it (the personal reasons) know that a lot of people probably would have quit, but I didn't," Anderson told AAP in Chicago.
"I feel like that's a testament to how much I want this to be my life.
"I've been through so much in the last year and a half that I've already won getting to fight week as it is.
"Everything else is just having fun and enjoying the moment and putting on a performance."
While she would like a crack at featherweight world champion Cyborg, Anderson isn't looking past Holm.
The American captured worldwide headlines by dethroning previously unbeaten bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey in Melbourne in November 2015.
While the 36-year-old Holm has lost four of her last five fights, she did go the five-round distance in her most recent bout against Cyborg last December .
Holm has more big fight experience than Anderson, but that's not something the 28-year-old Australian regards as important despite her respect for the American.
"I feel like there comes a time when experience becomes an excuse for fighters, someone is more experienced therefore they automatically should win," Anderson said.
"I've been the least experienced in every single one of my fights and I'm on a four-fight win streak.
"It's not about dealing with someone's experience, it's more about enforcing my will on my opponent to get the win."
