Victorian Opposition Leader Daniel Andrews has played down a poll result that predicts a landslide election win for Labor on November 29.

The latest Newspoll for Victoria has the Liberal Party on a primary vote of 32 per cent, and the Coalition total on 35 per cent.

Labor leads the government on a two-party-preferred basis, 55 per cent to 45 per cent.

Mr Andrews said the polling would tighten in the run-up to the state election.

"There are polls almost every week and this will be a close election," he told reporters on Monday.

"This will be a close election and I take absolutely nothing for granted."
