Admittedly it's a small sample size, but powerhouse midfielder Josh Caddy's form has mirrored that of Geelong to start the AFL season.
Caddy burst out of the blocks in round one, contributing three goals and 21 possessions as the Cats ran over the top of arch-rivals Hawthorn.
But team and player crashed back to earth with a thud last week, with Greater Western Sydney downing the Cats for the first time since they entered the competition in 2012.
"We didn't take GWS lightly - we know they're already a good side and one that is getting better fast," the 23-year-old Caddy told AAP.
"We just got jumped early and left ourselves with too much to do at the end.
"I am angry and we are angry at how we played against the Giants and everyone is very keen to make amends this week."
The Cats will start as short-priced favourites at Simonds Stadium on Sunday against a Brisbane side who have begun the 2016 campaign with losses to West Coast and North Melbourne.
Caddy has been impressed - but not surprised - with how well ruckman Zac Smith has slotted in with his new club.
They were both foundation players at Gold Coast in 2011, with Caddy now into his fourth season at the Cattery.
Although they remained friends, Smith did not sound out Caddy about the benefits of a move to Geelong.
"At least I don't think he did, although I was overseas at the time when the trade period was on last year, so I suppose he may have called me and I didn't realise," said Caddy.
"Zac is very close to (Suns captain and former Geelong great) Gary Ablett.
"Even though Gary would love for Zac to have stayed at the Suns, he still loves Geelong and presumably he would have told Zac it was a great club and a great place to play footy once Zac had decided it was time to move on."
Smith and Rhys Stanley will form an athletic ruck pairing to take on big Lion Stefan Martin, one of four Brisbane players who tied for the club best and fairest award in 2015.
Another of that quartet, Mitch Robinson, returns to the side this week to replace injured skipper Tom Rockliff (calf).
The Cats have made two changes, bringing in Dan Menzel and first gamer Tom Ruggles for Jordan Murdoch (soreness) and Cory Gregson (omitted).
