If the NRL are going to strip points from Parramatta, Eels captain Kieran Foran wants it done sooner rather than later.
More than six weeks after reports emerged of alleged manipulation of third-party deals by Parramatta administrators, Eels players are still none the wiser as to whether their 2016 season will be destroyed by salary cap sanctions.
And while further reports on Tuesday suggested the NRL may wait another fortnight before announcing an eight-point penalty, Foran has one simple message for the game's rulers: rip the band aid off quick.
"If they're going to do it, then let's get on with it and do it," Foran told Sky Sports Radio's Big Sports Breakfast on Thursday.
"Then we can at least strategically sit down and work out how we're going to go on with the season."
Foran maintains Parramatta players are still yet to receive an update on the situation from the club or its coaching staff.
And while he said the players were yet to discuss it as a group, they were still waiting for Brad Arthur to tell them the final outcome once it is delivered by the NRL before discussing how best to deal with the situation.
"At the moment it's just sort of lingering over everyone's heads," he said.
Regardless of what news Arthur passes on though, Foran told AAP on Wednesday he still expects Parramatta to be there come September.
"We have a genuine belief here that we want to be playing finals footy.
"We're not going to let eight or 10 points stop us from doing that."
