Thousands of spectators have descended on Melbourne for the annual Moomba Parade marking the final day of Australia's largest community festival.
Moomba Festival’s king and queen - cricketer Shane Warne and Bollywood actress Pallavi Sharda - led the colourful procession down St Kilda Road followed by over 2,000 children, cultural performers, school groups and professional and amateur dance troupes.
The city's youngest creative minds and cultural groups designed some of the dazzling floats featured in the parade.
The event, in its 61st year, celebrates one of the city’s oldest Labour Day traditions.
Lord Mayor Robert Doyle said this year’s parade is about showcasing the city’s creative and collaborative nature.
The festivities will wrap up tonight with music performances and a spectacular fireworks display.
The Birdman Rally on Sunday, where entrants donned homemade flying devices to see who can glide the furthest, was a crowd favourite.
Spectators lined the banks of the Yarra River to cheer on their favourite feathered contestant as they took the plunge from a four-metre high platform.
The Moomba Festival attracts more than one million people each year.
