Another lay day at J-Bay surfing

For the second straight day, a lay day has been called at surfing's J-Bay Open at Jeffreys Bay in South Africa.

A second consecutive lay day has been called at the J-Bay Open, stop No.6 on the World Surf League (WSL) championship tour (CT), with strong onshore winds and only small surf on offer at Jeffreys Bay.

"The conditions are perfect - the wind is offshore and it's cold - but there's just no swell," Kieren Perrow, WSL Commissioner said.

"The swell hasn't filled in and it looks like it won't arrive until later this evening so we'll be off for the day. We'll come back tomorrow morning and we're expecting a pretty good day".

First to take to the water when competition resumes will be ratings leader Adriano de Souza of Brazil and wildcard Slade Prestwich battling to avoid elimination in the opening heat of Round two.
