Another measles case in Victoria

An overseas traveller who visited Victoria this month and is now being treated in a Vietnamese hospital, is the latest person to prompt a measles alert.

Victorian health authorities have issued another measles alert after an overseas traveller with the illness visited the state this month.

Acting chief health officer Angie Bone on Thursday night advised the man in his 30s visited pubs and hotels at Coburg, Mornington and St Kilda as well as a Williamstown pharmacy between May 2 and 7, and flew Vietnam Airlines.

He is now being treated in a Vietnamese hospital and the case is unrelated to four other cases confirmed in Victorian residents earlier this month.

So far 14 confirmed cases of measles have been detected in Victoria so far this year.
