Ansell chief executive Magnus Nicolin will continue to lead the slimmed down business until he retires at the end of the 2021 financial year.
The company, which last week announced the $US600 million ($A806 million) sale of its condom business, on Monday said it was well advanced on identifying potential internal candidates to replace Mr Nicolin.
Mr Nicolin has been chief executive of the protective glove manufacturer since 2010.
"The board has identified potential candidates to make up the next generation senior team and our next CEO, reaffirming our strong commitment to developing internal talent," Ansell said in a statement to the ASX.
"The internal CEO candidates have demonstrated strong leadership potential in their current roles."
Chairman Glenn Barnes also intends to retire, in 2019, to be succeeded by deputy chairman John Bevan.
Ansell also said Bill Reilly will seek election to the board at this year's annual general meeting to replace Dale Crandall who retires after 15 years on the board and Ansell's general counsel.
