An Australian activist with environmental group Sea Shepherd will face a Danish court later this month after being arrested along with 13 others for trying to disrupt a traditional whale hunt in waters off Northern Europe.

Krystal Keynes was part of the Sea Shepherd crew trying to save a pod of 33 pilot whales being herded towards slaughter in the Faroe Islands.

The killing method involves the mammals being forced into a bay by flotillas of small boats before being hacked to death with hooks and knives.

Sea Shepherd USA spokeswoman Susan Hartland spoke with Darren Mara about the arrests and the Faroese whale cull.
