ANZ CEO unveils management overhaul

ANZ chief executive Shayne Elliott has completed a management overhaul he says will improve the bank's focus on retail, commercial and institutional customers.

Mark Whelan has been appointed institutional group executive, with Farhan Faruqui reporting to him as international group executive with responsibility for ANZ's institutional business in Asia, Europe and America.

Deputy institutional and international chief executive Gilles Plante is leaving after 19 years with the bank.

ANZ New Zealand's retail and business managing director, Fred Ohlsson, becomes Australia group executive, while David Hisco becomes group executive and chief executive of the New Zealand unit.
