AOFM sells $200m of August 2035 bonds

The AOFM has sold $200 million of August 21, 2035, Treasury indexed bonds.

The Australian government has sold $200 million of August 21, 2035, Treasury indexed bonds.

The Australian Office of Financial Management (AOFM), which conducts bond auctions on the behalf of the government, said the bonds were sold for a weighted average issue yield of 2.1635 per cent.

The sale attracted bids totalling $748 million, giving a coverage ratio of 3.74.

The face value of the bonds is linked to the consumer price index, so the return is the inflation rate plus the yield.
