APN off to solid start

Newspaper and radio broadcaster APN News and Media says revenues are up six per cent so far in 2015 despite a softer ad market.

APN News and Media has made a solid start to the year, with revenues up six per cent despite a softer advertising market.

APN, which publishes about 100 newspapers and owns KIIS and Pure Gold radio networks, said earnings were also tracking higher than they were in early 2014.

"Advertising market conditions have softened in April, and comparatives were improving this time last year" chief executive Michael Miller told shareholders at APN's annual meeting on Wednesday.

"We remain focused on share growth in all our markets."
