Archer Ingley selected for Rio Olympics

Semra Ferguson has opted against taking her Olympic non-nomination appeal to the CAS, prompting Alice Ingley to be selected to the Rio team.

Alice Ingley has been selected to fill Australia's female archery spot at the Rio Olympics after Semra Ferguson dropped her appeal against her non-nomination.

Ferguson, who booked Australia's female quota spot in April, appealed her non-nomination this month after Archery Australia selectors flagged their intention to nominate Ingley instead of her.

However the appeals tribunal dismissed the appeal this week, and Ferguson's lawyers advised her not to take her case to the Court of Arbitration for Sport.
