Not many years ago, the idea of an Indigenous model would have struggled to even enter the wider Australian psyche.

Today, Kira Lea Dargin has developed an Aboriginal modelling charity, and Jake Gordon has emerged as the first Indigenous high fashion male model.

They're part of a special Awaken program on NITV entitled "Black Is Beautiful," looking at some of the issues for Indigenous people in such fields.

They spoke with Ron Sutton, who asked Ms Dargin, first, about the evolution in Australia -- if there is any -- of the idea that black can be beautiful.
