Are the Solomons' ethnic troubles over?

Celebrations are underway in the Solomon Islands to mark the 10th anniversary of the Australian-led mission that brought peace back to its Pacific neighbour.

The economy is now stable but the underlying land issues that sparked five years of brutal ethnic conflict known as "the tensions" remain.

The Regional Assistance Mission, known as RAMSI, officially pulled out its military contingent this month leaving behind civilian aid workers and about 100 Australian Federal Police.

Stephen Panga is the Premier of Guadalcanal Province, where most of the fighting took place.
