A man's body was found in the middle of a suburban Melbourne street shortly after an argument was heard, police say.
The body of 36-year-old Springvale man Peter Danh was discovered by a passing motorist in the middle of the Noble Park road about 10.20pm (AEST) on Thursday.
Police initially thought Mr Danh was the victim of a hit-and-run, but are now treating his death as suspicious.
"A witness that we have spoken to has told us that he heard some arguing or some multiple voices around about the time this man was found, some car doors opening and closing," Detective Sergeant Graham Ross told reporters at the scene on Friday.
Mr Danh suffered head injuries, and an autopsy was to be conducted on Friday.
