A meeting to confirm the date convicted drug smugglers Andrew Chan and Myuran Sukumaran will be transferred for their execution in Indonesia will not go ahead today.

It's believed the official responsible for holding the meeting has been called to Jakarta on an unrelated matter.

The Australian pair are to be transferred from Kerobokan jail in Bali to Nusakambangan island for their execution.

It comes as family members and supporters continue to call on the Indonesian government to spare their lives.

One of those is friend and Archibald prize-winning artist Ben Quilty, who's just returned from visiting the men in Bali.

He's told Jessica Rich it was difficult saying goodbye to Sukumaran for the last time yesterday.
