ASADA gets $1.5m for pre-Games testing

ASADA will get an extra $1.5 million for anti-doping activities before the Gold Coast Commonwealth Games.

Australia's sports anti-doping authority will get a $1.5 million boost to ramp up its efforts before the 2018 Gold Coast Commonwealth Games.

The federal government has committed $400,000 to ASADA for 2016-17 in the budget, with the remaining $1.1 million to come the following year.

The money is to help cover the cost of pre-Games testing of Australian and international athletes, among other measures.
