Iago Aspas scored a hat-trick as Celta Vigo won 5-2 in Las Palmas on Monday despite having their goalkeeper sent off on 52 minutes.

Emre Mor broke the deadlock for Celta Vigo on 16 minutes from Daniel Wass' pass.

Aspas made it 2-0 on 20 minutes when Las Palmas 'keeper Leandro Chichizola left a gap at his near post and the Spain striker took advantage with a well-struck shot.

Aspas got his second of the night three minutes into the second half when he raced clear before shooting past a static Chichizola.

Celta were reduced to 10 men on 52 minutes when goalkeeper Ruben Blanco was harshly sent-off for charging out of his area and winning a 50-50 challenge for the ball with Las Palmas forward Jonathan Calleri.

Far from helping Las Palmas back into the game Celta Vigo grabbed a fourth through Pablo Hernandez.

Aspas then completed his hat-trick to make it five with 14 minutes left before Vitolo and Loic Remy narrowed the margin in injury time.

Celta Vigo players had been upset in the build-up to the game by events back home in Galicia where wildfires, believed to have been caused by arsonists, had claimed at least four lives and prompted evacuations.

There was a minute of silence before the game and both sets of players wore t-shirts bearing the slogan "Pain and anger".

Aspas dedicated the win to the people who have suffered because of the fires.

"We don't deserve what has happened," he said. "I hope the result gives some joy."
