Syrian president Bashar al-Assad has accused Western nations, including Australia, of double standards.

 

In an exclusive interview with SBS, President Assad says the West criticises his government in public but deals with it in private.

 

SBS reporter Luke Waters, who spent more than two years trying to get the interview, reports from Damascus.
