Assault 'victim' repeats Te'o allegations

Rabbitohs star Ben Te'o has been cleared of any wrongdoing by the NRL's integrity units.

The woman at the centre of allegations against Ben Te'o insists she was assaulted by the Queensland State of Origin star despite police not pressing charges.

Katie Lewis went to Queensland police in April with the allegations before renewing them in May, claiming the South Sydney back-rower punched her in the face, fracturing her eye socket.

Te'o has strenuously denied the allegations and Queensland detectives on Thursday dropped their investigation into the matter and said no charges would be laid.

"We've determined no further action will be taken in relation to that matter," a police spokesman told AAP.

But Ms Lewis repeated the allegations upon being told police had concluded Te'o had no case to answer.

"I know that he hit me ... I know ... (and) he knows that he did," Lewis told the Nine Network.

"I would love to have him in front of me and to ask him the question and for him to look me in the eye.

"I got punched in the eye. But apparently there are stories out there that I actually fell on something."

Ms Lewis, 22, said she was shocked and cried when told police had dropped the investigation.

Te'o has also been cleared of any wrongdoing by the NRL's integrity unit.

"After consultation with Queensland Police today, the National Rugby League integrity unit has concluded its investigation into allegations made against Ben Te'o and recommended no action be taken against the player," the NRL said in a statement.

"The Queensland Police have informed the Integrity Unit after an extensive investigation that there is no evidence that would warrant charges being laid against the NRL player over assault allegations.

"The NRL integrity unit had carried out a number of interviews prior to the police investigation and has reached its decision on the basis of these and today's discussions with the Queensland Police."

Te'o played in all three Origin games for Queensland despite calls from some quarters, including from South Sydney legend John Sattler, that he be stood down from Origin and NRL football.

Te'o has been named in the Rabbitohs side to play St George Illawarra on Monday.
