Assistant coach Shaw leaves Swans for Roos

Rhyce Shaw says he's leaving his AFL assistant coaching role at Sydney to return to Victoria.

Assistant coach Rhyce Shaw is leaving Sydney after a 10-year stint at the AFL club to join North Melbourne.

Shaw is expected to be tasked with being the Kangaroos' defence coach.

Shaw moved to Sydney from Collingwood in 2009 and was a member of the Swans' 2012 premiership side before retiring as a player in 2015 and joining the coaching ranks.
