Aston Villa signs forward Jordan Ayew

Ghana international striker Jordan Ayew has become Aston Villa's sixth signing of the pre-season transfer window.

Aston Villa has signed Ghana international striker Jordan Ayew from French club Lorient on a five-year deal.

The Premier League side confirmed the signing on Monday, saying the 23-year-old Ayew joined for an undisclosed fee.

Villa manager Tim Sherwood says Ayew "is a fantastic young player who is perfectly suited to the Premier League".

Ayew is Villa's sixth signing of the pre-season transfer window and will replace Belgium striker Christian Benteke, who left the club to sign for Liverpool last week.
