Real Madrid's historic tenth win in the Champions League was the focus of those attacked in the bombing (AAP).

A suicide bomber has killed eight people in an attack in central Nigeria on spectators watching a broadcast of the Champions League final, an eyewitness says.

Police spokesman Frank Mba earlier said Saturday's attack killed two people, as well as the suicide bomber, while two people who sustained injuries were taken to hospital.

But witness Abdullateef Adio said he saw "more than eight bodies after the stampede that followed the explosion" at a viewing centre.

He said more than 50 people were injured.

Adio said three buildings were set ablaze by the blast.

A witness told the Daily Trust newspaper that the bomb went off just before the attacker reached a public gathering where people were watching the match, which was early in the second half.

No one claimed responsibility for the attack. Analysts said it bore the trademark of the radical Islamist group Boko Haram, which regards pastimes such as watching football or listening to foreign music as sinful.

At least 118 people were killed on Tuesday in twin bombings at a crowded market in Jos, the Plateau state capital.
