Aurizon appoints new chairman

Tim Poole will succeed John B Prescott as chairman of rail business Aurizon Holdings from September 1.

Aurizon Holdings will appoint Tim Poole as its new chairman, following the planned retirement of John B Prescott in September.

Mr Poole was previously chairman of rival rail business Asciano and currently heads AustralianSuper's investment committee.

He will be appointed to Aurizon's board of directors from July 1 and will take over from Mr Prescott on September 1.
