Aus forces complete first mission in Syria

Four RAAF aircraft completed their first mission into Syria, returning safely without releasing any weapons.

Australian fighter jets have completed their first mission over Syria, returning without incident. (AAP)

Australian fighter jets have completed their first mission over Syria.

The Australian Air Task Group sent two F/A-18A Hornets, a refuelling aircraft and an early warning and control aircraft into eastern Syria overnight, returning without incident.

Air Commodore Stu Bellingham said no weapons were deployed and the planes returned safely.
