After leading for two rounds, Sarah Kemp faded with an even par round of 72 for a share of third place at the Ladies European Masters at Buckinghamshire Golf Club on Saturday.

But while the established player dropped, Australian amateur Minjee Lee climbed to second place, four strokes behind leader I K Kim.

The Korean fired nine birdies to equal the course record of 63 and sit 14 under par, four shots clear of 18-year-old Lee, who shot 67.

After going to the turn in 33 with birdies on the second, sixth and seventh, Kim birdied six of her next eight holes to storm home in just 30 shots.

"Condition wise it was a bit tricky today because it rained a lot last night. The greens were a little bit softer and I think that helped a bit too, scoring wise," said Kim, 26.

"There was a little bit of luck there because on the front nine it poured for two holes but I was hitting wedge into the green so I was lucky that I was able to score well on those holes."

Lee, who moved top of the world amateur rankings after winning the Victorian Open in February, went to the turn in 34 with birdies at the second and sixth and picked up three further shots on the back nine.

Lee said: "It was pretty stress free and no bogeys and I gave myself a lot of opportunities. I missed a couple and made some.

"I can improve on it so I'm looking forward to it tomorrow.

"The greens were really soft and I could get to the front pins so that helped for everyone. It only rained for one hole for me and the weather was perfect for golf."

Kemp, who held a three-shot lead at the halfway stage, is tied with American Amelia Lewis (68) five shots behind Kim, with Germany's Caroline Masson (66) and Australian Nikki Campbell (68) another shot back.

Defending champion Karrie Webb three-putted the last for a 70, which left her 11 strokes off the lead in a share of 20th position.
