Aussie Bland qualifies for British Open

Australian Adam Bland enjoyed a solid final round at the Mizuno Open to finish third overall and claim a spot at this year's British Open.

A third place finish at the Mizuno Open in Japan has earned Australian golfer Adam Bland a berth at this year's British Open.

Victorian Bland's two under final round saw him finish at -7 for the tournament, eight shots adrift of runaway American winner Chan Kim.

Kim offset a lone bogey with five birdies at the Setonakai Golf Club to finish five strokes ahead of Michael Hendry of New Zealand (68) who also qualified for the 146th Open.

The trio get invites to Royal Birkdale for their efforts along with KT Kim of South Korea who shot a 69 to finish tied for fourth.

The victory capped an eventful week for the Korean-American, who secured a place in the US Open on Monday in another qualifying tournament in Japan.
