Australian Josh Brookes doubled up in the sixth round of the British Superbike Championship, twice beating off the challenge of series leader Shane Byrne.
Brookes, riding the Milwaukee Yamaha, overcame the early challenges of Dan Linfoot in the opening race, moving ahead after six laps at the Chicane in Thruxton and then easing into a four-seconds lead over Byrne.
Linfoot, meanwhile, slipped back to fourth, adrift of Ryuichi Kiyonari.
On his Rapid Solicitors Kawasaki, Byrne was keen to make amends and led from the start, again with Linfoot in contention from Brookes, only for the action to be red-flagged by an oil spill as Tommy Bridewell's bike blew.
On the restart Byrne again made the running, but by half distance Brookes had charged ahead.
This time, however, he was unable to pull a gap and took his third victory of the season by 0.204secs with Kiyonari again third from Linfoot.
