Australia has added to its medal haul at the snowboard and freestyle skiing world championships in Austria, with Britt Cox securing bronze in the moguls.

In the best performance of her blossoming career, the 20-year-old followed on from the gold medal-winning efforts of snowboarder Scott James and aerial skier Laura Peel to continue Australia's hot start over the first four days of the championships.

Cox on Sunday was bettered by Canada's gold medallist Justine Dufour-Lapointe and two-time Olympic medallist Hannah Kearney from the United States, who added a silver to her previous six world championships medals.

"I had three runs which I was really, really happy with," Cox said after the final.

"It's an excellent feeling when you cross the line when you are so happy with your runs."

Matt Graham finished in 16th place in the men's event.
