Australia's Bede Durbidge has been beaten in the final of the Rio Pro, with Brazil's Filipe Toledo pulling out all stops to take the glory.

In the women's event, American Courtney Conlogue reigned supreme, getting the better of South Africa's Bianca Buitendag.

Toledo scored a near-perfect 19.87 out of a possible 20 in the final, which included a perfect ten.

It was the highest two-wave total of the entire competition and set a mark which Durbidge was never likely to trouble.

The 32-year-old Queenslander could only muster 14.70, allowing Toledo to claim his second championship tour victory of his career.

"It's been my dream to win this contest here and since the year that I qualified I've been dreaming of this day," said Toledo, who moves into second spot on the tour rankings behind countryman Adriano de Souza.

"I'm feeling really confident right now. It's going to be a really amazing year for me and the Brazilians and I'm hoping to finish in the top 5 and fight for the title at the end of the year."

Tour veteran Durbidge has been part of the Top 34 since 2005, however Sunday's result is his best since 2010 and moves him up one place to 10th on the leaderboard.

"I knew (Toledo) would take it to me straight away and he did with that 10," he said.

"I just had fun at the end and enjoyed this crowd and Rio. Filipe is only 20 and he's going to be hard to stop but it feels good to be back on the podium.

"This definitely gives me more confidence. It was my goal this year to get back on the podium and win an event. This is a good stepping stone and hopefully next time I will win."
