Oliver Goss won't soon forget his 20th birthday.
The Silver Cup winner in waiting celebrated with another round at Augusta National and was serenaded by hundreds of patrons as he closed.
The moment happened on the 18th green at Augusta National as he continued his procession to the Silver Cup at the Masters as the first Australian to be low amateur.
"I'm really, really proud of that. To know that I'm going to be in Butler Cabin on Sunday is huge," Goss beamed.
"And I honestly don't think it's quite hit me yet, as I'm just trying to focus on my rounds ahead, but I'm really proud to make the weekend and be low amateur."
The birthday song and the way he has been embraced by the patrons was almost enough for him to forget the four-over round of 76 that left him at seven-over for the tournament in a tie for 42nd.
"Yeah, they really have (taken me to heart)," Goss said.
"I've got some Tennessee Volunteer fans, a lot of them, actually. And a lot of Australian fans, too.
"I feel a lot of the crowd is backing me and supporting me, which means a lot. The song was really cool.
"The week has been absolutely crazy. It's something I'm not used to.
"It's great. I'm just really glad to have all the support I'm getting from Tennessee and Australia. It's wonderful."
The West Australian seemed a little flat, understandably given the emotional release of his impressive achievement.
"I'm really exhausted," he said.
"I've been here since Friday afternoon so I've been here eight days now and just focusing on the one event, it's really tiring.
"I think I can take that away into my next tournaments and learn from it.
"But it's the Masters. If you can't get motivated for the Masters, I don't know what you're doing.
"I just tried to play exactly as I have been the last two days and unfortunately made a couple of mental mistakes that cost me two doubles.
"Other than that, I played okay, just need to sort out the mental problems and I should be right for tomorrow."
