Olympian Emily Little remains in the hunt for two gold medals as one of six Australians into finals at the gymnastics World Cup event in Melbourne.

Little qualified for the floor final with the third-highest score of 12.633 on day two of the meet at Hisense Arena, behind Chinese duo Yan Wang and Tingting Liu.

The London Olympian finished seventh in qualifying for Saturday's balance beam final, with fellow local hope Emma Nedov also through after recording the fourth best score thanks to a perfectly executed flip-flip layout.

The Australian pair will meet Rio Olympic gold medallist Sanne Wevers of the Netherlands in the beam final.

Little and Nedov missed out on places at the Rio Games as Australia failed to qualify a women's gymnastics team for the Olympics for the first time in almost 30 years.

In men's events, Australian Mitchell Morgans qualified for Saturday's horizontal and parallel bars finals.

Australian youngster Clay Stephens - an unlikely gymnast having been born with only one pectoral muscle - qualified for vault and parallel bars finals, with compatriot Christopher Remkes to join him in the vault final.

Michael Mercieca has also qualified for the horizontal bar final.
