Aussie hits not enough to save Hydrabad

Sunrisers Hydrabad have suffered a seven-wicket IPL loss to the Mumbai Indians despite solid knocks from Aaron Finch and David Warner.

Big-hitting efforts from Aaron Finch and David Warner weren't enough to save Sunrisers Hydrabad in their IPL clash with the Mumbai Indians, who secured a resounding seven-wicket win with eight balls to spare.

The Australians together notched up 123 of the Sunrisers' 157 total, but the side was unable to contain the defending champions, who cruised to victory in 18.4 overs in Hydrabad.

After Hydrabad won the toss, opener Finch settled in for a long stay, watching two wickets fall before being joined by Warner at number four.

The pair added 63 runs in 54 balls, before Finch was caught out for 68 after his 62-ball spell.

Warner went on to smash 55 not out off 31 balls.

Hydrabad looked set to defend their total as they took an early wicket from Mumbai, but the partnership of Lendl Simmons and Ambati Rayudu put paid to that.

In a 130-run stand in 87 balls, the pair knocked 12 fours and six sixes, before Simmons was dismissed by Bhuvneshwar Kumar for 68 in the 16th over.

Rayudu went down, also for 68, in the following over as he was caught and bowled by Moises Henriques.

Rohit Sharma and Kieron Pollard stepped up to finish the game, taking Mumbai to 160.
