Aussie hospitals 'should ask travel questions'

Health experts say Australian hospitals should routinely ask if patients have been overseas to limit the potential spread of the deadly MERS virus.

The Australasian College for Infection Prevention and Control says emergency departments should start including travel questions as part of standard admission procedures.

The College says transmission of Middle East Respiratory Syndrome in South Korea, where more than 30 people have died, has occurred in healthcare settings.

Professor Peter Collignon has told Zara Zaher, Australia must take precautions to ensure the virus doesn't take hold here.
