Aussie pair qualify for Wimbledon

Luke Saville and Matt Barton have given Australia seven men in the Wimbledon main draw with final-round qualifying wins in London.

Former junior champion Luke Saville and grand slam rookie Matt Barton have boosted Australia's Wimbledon stocks with successful qualifying campaigns.

Saville showed true grit to seize a place in the main draw with a spirited five-set comeback win for the second year running, while Barton is savouring his maiden entry to a major draw at the ripe age of 24.

The boys' champion at the All England Club in 2011, Saville squeezed out a tense 6-4 3-6 2-6 7-6 (7-1) 6-4 win over German Matthias Bachinger in the final round of qualifying at Roehampton on Friday.

Barton upset Russian top seed Karen Khachanov 7-6 (7-1) 6-7 (1-7) 6-2 6-3 to clinch a place alongside Nick Kyrgios, Bernard Tomic, John Millman, Jordan Thompson and Sam Groth in the 128-strong men's draw at the All England Club.
