American phenomenon Jordan Spieth has the golfing world at his feet and Australian stars Marc Leishman and John Senden like what they see.

Spieth stunned a field containing Adam Scott and world No.1 Rory McIlroy at the Australian Open in Sydney last month with a final round eight-under 63 to take the tournament by six shots.

He then backed it up with a stunning 10-shot win at the Hero World Challenge, breaking Tiger Woods' tournament record with a 262 total.

It's a run of form that has lifted the 21-year-old into the world top 10 and has many believing he's set to become the next superstar of the game.

Senden, one of those watching in wonder at Spieth's final round at the Open, believes the young American could "do anything" in his career.

"He proved himself there at a couple of Ryder Cups and this year he went really well at Augusta, nearly won it," Senden said.

"He's good enough to win major championships and being young, being that talent with a great head on his shoulders, he's definitely the one to watch."

Leishman said he watched the final round of the Australian Open on television and was in awe of Spieth's display.

The 31-year-old Victorian said there's no reason Spieth can't emulate or eclipse McIlroy's rise from touted youngster to world's best.

"If he keeps playing the way he is, who knows?" Leishman said.

"He's a talent and he's really young. It's hard to compare ... but he's doing similar things to what Rory has done.

"The world's at his feet, he can do whatever he wants to do, just so long as he keeps things in check."
