Australia's Sarah Roy sprang a late surprise to secure victory ahead of the sprinting peloton on stage three of the Ovo Energy Women's Tour in Leamington Spa, England.

The Sydney racer, riding for Australian-based team Mitchelton-Scot, jumped clear of the field inside the final 5km and held off the charging sprinters' teams to win the 151km route from Atherstone.

The 32-year-old, who won stage four of last year's race in Chesterfield, followed team-mate Jolien D'Hoore's victory in Southwold, Suffolk on stage one.

Coryn Rivera (Team Sunweb) retained the overall lead, with Briton Dani Rowe falling to third, 20 seconds adrift and behind WaowDeals team-mate Marianne Vos, of Holland, in a race which concludes on Sunday.
