Australian teenager Jack Robinson has surfed his way into the Pipeline Masters after advancing through the qualifying round in Hawaii.

The 17-year-old West Australian comfortably won his heat and semi-final before scoring a 9.43 in his only wave in the final to take out the competition at the Banzai Pipeline in Oahu.

He now becomes the 13th Australian in the 36-man field, with Mick Fanning aiming to finish high enough in the tournament to wrap up his fourth world title.
