Aussies bat first in T20 opener

Australia will bat first in the opening Twenty20 international against Sri Lanka as they seek to continue winning form from the ODI series.

Sri Lanka won a fifth consecutive toss but have elected to give Australia first use of the wicket in the opening match of the two-match Twenty20 series in Pallekele.

Australia made three changes to their line-up from the side which cruised to a five-wicket victory in the final one-day international on Sunday.

Glenn Maxwell, Moises Henriques and Peter Nevill have come into the side in place of John Hastings, Matthew Wade and the injured Aaron Finch.

Sri Lanka made numerous changes to their side, with veteran allrounder Tillakaratne Dilshan notably returning despite his retirement from the one-day arena.

Sri Lanka have defeated Australia in the only two previous Twenty20 matches played between the nations on home turf.

Teams:

Sri Lanka: Kusal Mendis, Tillakaratne Dilshan, Kusal Perera, Dinesh Chandimal, Dhananjaya de Silva, Chamara Kapugedera, Sachith Pathirana, Thisara Perera, Suranga Lakmal, Sachithra Senanayake, Chandrasekara Rajitha

Australia: David Warner (capt), Usman Khawaja, George Bailey, Travis Head, Glenn Maxwell, Moises Henriques, Peter Nevill, James Faulkner, Mitchell Starc, Adam Zampa, Scott Boland.
