The Australian tourists and their German pilot were pulled, seriously injured, from the Cessna plane after it crashed near the Lupinyu Business Centre, local media has reported.

Bulawayo 24 quoted a villager, who said the plane developed engine failure shortly after take-off from Victoria Falls International Airport.

“We saw it passing but immediately it turned back and was moving at a very low speed,” the villager said.

“Soon after, we heard a loud bang near our fields and we ran and we saw it hitting trees as it crashed. We then attended the scene and rescued the victims.”

The ABC reported the three Australian tourists and the German pilot were taken to Victoria Falls Hospital and were in a critical condition.
