Australia's Sarah Jane Smith and Minjee Lee have made a bright start at the LPGA Classic in Canada, both firing a four-under-par 68 in the opening round to be in the hunt for honours.
Smith posted five birdies - including three in a row starting on the 5th - and a lone bogey to be four shots behind tournament leaders Suzann Pettersen and Mi Hyang Lee.
Lee, the world No.16, bogeyed the par-five 16th after posting birdies on the 3rd, 6th, 8th, 12th and 13th.
Compatriot Sarah Kemp's card was not so tidy, with her two-over round meaning she will have a fight on her hands to make the cut.
Norway's Pettersen had nine birdies and one bogey, while South Korea's Lee carded six birdies and an eagle in a blemish-free round.
Immediately behind the leaders are Laura Gonzalez Escallon, Shanshan Feng and Hyo Joo Kim on seven under while Jodi Ewart Shadoff is joined on six under by Emily Pedersen and Alena Sharp.
