If the World Cup is decided on local support, Ange Postecoglou's men are set to shock in Brazil.
It seems not even the 'group of death' draw placing the Socceroos with the last two World Cup finalists, Spain and the Netherlands, has put off local fans from making the trek to South America.
Of the half a million tickets sold to the international public, Australia sits third for support, behind only host nation Brazil and the United States.
Even Old Blighty might be out-sung by the Socceroos fans, with the travelling English bagging 38,043 tickets compared to Australia's 40,681.
While Australians will be over-represented in Brazil, the number allocated to locals is less than half the number requested.
Ticket sellers viagogo say global requests for the coveted World Cup tickets could sell out the tournament ten times.
But spokesman Alex Levenson urged those Australians that missed out to only attempt to buy tickets through accredited sellers.
"Never buy a ticket that isn't covered by a 100 per cent guarantee... otherwise you could be left standing outside the stadium with an invalid ticket, having travelled nearly 15,000 kilometres to be there. That's not a risk anyone should take," Levenson said.
Brazilian fans have bought more than one million tickets, with American fans picking up just over 150,000.
Another million tickets have been allocated to corporate and hospitality seats outside the general public's reach.
