Australia will bat first in their one-day international with Ireland in Belfast, with Steve Smith winning the toss following a rain delay.
Play was delayed by nearly two hours due to persistent overnight rain, with the first ball scheduled for 12.30pm local time on Thursday (2130 AEST) and the clash reduced to 47 overs a side.
Belfast has been lashed with rain for much of the week, with the surface at the Civil Service Cricket Club wet underfoot for Australia's training session on Wednesday.
Debutant Joe Burns will open the batting for Australia alongside David Warner while, in Smith's full captaincy debut, he will lead a strong unit including the likes of World Cup winners Mitchell Starc, Shane Watson and Glenn Maxwell.
Despite coming off a gruelling Ashes campaign, selectors have opted against resting paceman Starc, with the World Cup star spearheading an attack also featuring tearaway Pat Cummins.
It is Australia's first ODI since winning the World Cup final in February.
Play is expected to be disrupted throughout the day with rain predicted in the afternoon.
