Aust coach Fisher hints at Gloucester exit

Former Brumbies coach Laurie Fisher has hinted at ending his coaching stint at English premiership rugby club Gloucester after a tough loss.

Australian Laurie Fisher's future as head coach at English Premiership rugby club Gloucester is in doubt after he hinted at moving on following a dramatic premiership loss.

"Unbelievable capitulation. Clearly not good enough. My responsibility. Time to make room for someone else," wrote Fisher on Twitter.

The former Brumbies mentor made the remarks following a 30-27 loss to Harlequins after his team led by 27-15 with eight minutes remaining.

A statement from Gloucester said: "The club is aware of the tweet and we are not in a position to comment further."

Fisher joined Gloucester in 2014.

While they are ninth on the premiership table after the loss, Gloucester still qualified for the European Challenge Cup quarter-finals this season after topping their group with five wins from six games.

With five premiership games remaining, they are eight points outside the top six and automatic qualification for the European Champions Cup.
