Australia will clash with leaders Fiji in the quarter-finals of the South African round of the Sevens Rugby World Series.
Australia finished second in Pool B on Saturday after falling to Argentina 31-21 in the final game of the day at a boisterous Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium in Port Elizabeth.
Earlier, the men in gold beat Portugal 33-21 and Zimbabwe 50-0.
Despite securing qualification to the main competition, coach Geraint John challenged his players to raise their game on Day Two.
"The Argentina game was a disappointing end to what I felt was a slightly disappointing day. I didn't feel we performed particularly well and we missed too many tackles," John said.
"However, it's a new day tomorrow and we are in the Cup Quarters against a Fiji side who will be looking for a bit of revenge on us after last week in Dubai."
In other quarter-finals on Sunday, Argentina will play Scotland, South Africa take on England while New Zealand are up against the United States.
